Its that time of year. What do you do for your employees? Party/Dinner, Gifts, $$$. If $$$ how much? Based on what?
Normally I do both a dinner and $$$ bonus equal to an average paycheck.

The good ones I give some money (e.g. $200 - $300). The others nothing.
We usually do a dinner, $200 gift card (Also do a $100 for Thanksgiving), and jacket/coat.
I have 35 employees, all of whom are part time. I usually do one gift that’s equal to around $40 plus little candies and holiday goodies. I’m feeling jealous of your plan, but no way I could afford to give that much out.
Don’t be embarrassed…finances control everything. Anything you can do is awesome. So many get nothing or no recognition. Do what you can do!
I’m curious why you have so many part time employees vs a few full time supplemented by part time employees? You can DM me if you’d rather not post…I’m just really curious.
We hire almost exclusively military spouses and most on our team prefer to work 20-25 hours a week to accommodate their kids’ schedules. It’s tough to work a full time schedule with no local family support and a spouse who has zero flexibility. We’ve built our business model around that!
we take care of our employees all year with ‘extras’ and found that a bonus is much appreciated.
provide a nice christmas lunch during a working day and 2 hours off paid for the lunch in december, along with a $100 gift card. Lots of door prizes, 50/50 draws etc.
Staff doesn’t want to do a christmas party on the weekend so this is our choice instead. About 150 employees.
Lunch at the shop for employees and to their close family. Nothing fancy but good food. Bonuses for all employees between $500 and $1000. I have 3 full time and 1 part time employee.
Also a small company with less than 15 employees.
We have a Christmas party on the second Saturday in December. Santa stops by with presents for the little ones at 6, bar opens at 8.
Also give a cash bonus on the second Friday of December. $600 X years of employment capped at $6k.

Holiday party, open bar, make a game out of giving gifts value ina value range of $50-200.
Each year they get a $100 bonus. each year they work it goes up. im giving a $600 bonus to 2 employees this year.
I have 7-10 employees.
If you do a money bonus, be warned that you can never go back. If you stop for whatever reason, you will have a mass exodus from the company. You can’t mess with things like that once you start.
We get:
- 3-4 weeks off (tied to our main client)
- I buy teamwide/staff wide gifts (basically I buy 3 things that I really enjoyed and want to share with my staff.) Last year it was a multitool, a really cool/useful grocery bag made from recycled paper, and then fruit from a California farm.
- 2nd bonus of the year. Because the team has full transparency into the finances, they’re able to see how much they’re getting far before holidays and plan accordingly.
- Dinner! We’re all remote so it’s an expensed dinner.

I’m giving everyone the week of Christmas off, paid. Costs me about $35K.

20 people. Revenue of around 4MM.
We take everyone out for a party, plus a gift of some kind or gift card. Under 15 employees
I had 5 FT employees. For Thanksgiving I gave them $100 supermarket gift card for Turkey, ham whatever.
For Christmas, usually 2 people received a small bonus.
I gave a weeks pay to everyone either late summer or early fall. I didn’t want there to be an expectation of a year end bonus.
Throughout the year, we would do small things.

We take everyone out (and a +1 if they want) for an Activity and Dinner, then usually meet up for a few drinks and BS’ing / card games (like Cards Against Humanity) after dinner at the store, or at our house.
A bonus equal to about a paycheck, based on how the year has went. I like to do the bonus the week of Thanksgiving as its not a payroll week and gives time for employees to use it for Christmas shopping. We also do small gifts for the employees.
This year we are doing ax throwing for the Activity, going to dinner at a new steak house in town.
We are also thinking of doing a White Elephant gift exchange after dinner, with a $10 limit and a theme of silly or goofy items.
