  • Is the Amazon arrow going from a-z cool? Absolutely. I didn’t know about that until 15 years after I was using Amazon.

The 10 dollar Logaster Logo worked great for our previous company. This time around our logo is just a large V. We weren’t even creative with the colors. White and gray so when placing the logo we only have to wonder if the light or the dark template will work better.

More important than the logo is the consistent look and feel. Not having a mess up on the fonts etc. The simpler you keep all of that, the better off you will be until you can afford to spend a lot of money in creating and maintaining your look and feel. So I would discourage a new business from putting too much effort into their logo. Actually I would tell them to get the logo and name done with and start finding customers. You have zero brand equity until you have customers and can still easily change everything after you have a few customers. But until you have customers, you’re not a business.

  • I know I’ll get my money’s worth when I sell.

I’m not sure what you mean by this. If you mean that your business is scaled and works independently of you then that does mean you are more sellable. If you’re saying that you’re paying significantly more than the market to individuals that are necessary for delivering your business without getting business value out of them then you might have shot your gross margins and those are looked at very closely while selling. Of course if you had Google like gross margins to begin with it wouldn’t matter.

There is a moral and a business argument and I’m not saying the moral is not valid but rather that you need to be honest with yourself on what is moral and what is business.

We always paid employees well and the goal was that money is not something on which we’ll lose talent. We had a 4.8 on Glassdoor and a platinum rank on Officevibe. But we didn’t put someone in such a position that they thought their job was irreplaceable and they stopped taking risks and created a lot of growth opportunities for them, with many of them completely changing career trajectories.

  • If they want to take investment, they should incorporate it as a C Corp.

All three co-founders need to sign a restricted stock agreement. The restricted stock agreement will make it clear that if someone gets terminated for cause their unvested shares will be clawed back.

Each of the three parties signs a contract assigning their existing contributions to the company.

  • Fair Use. If it came down to court OP would likely win. If it were coming down to court, OP would probably go bankrupt and could not survive till it comes down to court. But really you have to look them in the eye stand your ground and claim fair use talk about how your work is actually free advertising for them, and protest on your Tiktok about your plight. The negative reaction from fans is what will make them back away.

  • Would depend entirely on what you need them to do. Lots of entrepreneurs get jobs. I have one exit under my belt and got executive interest although didn’t do any interviewing. But I’m sure that if I wanted a leadership job I could get it.

OP can try for smaller companies. Where his leadership experience would be considered useful. I’m sure there are hiring managers that value the creativity of entrepreneurs in later companies too.

  • Do you want them to resell for you or do you want them to use your products in their studios. As others are saying you’re spending a lot of time trying to talk about why you should do business with them. I font think that’s the correct tactic. You have handed them a free sample. Your next action needs to be they make the most out of the sample. Step one convince them to use the sample today not have it sit on a shelf waiting for the perfect moment to light it.

I would talk about the Vegan, dye free, qualities of it because it conforms to their value. But I would convince them to use the product today. One idea I have for this is making a themed box. Make it a fall themed box. Have the products be individually labeled for the day of the week. A card with each product describing how it is the best Monday mid November scent, etc and how it is going to inlay their day positively. That way, you make the special occasion today.
