  • I think the over the fold area is very clear, except the “Tired of endless software subscriptions?” thing looks way too much like a button.

Searching doesn’t start if I enter a search term and press Enter key. In fact, the entire search feature seems broken. If I enter a search term and try to search for something, the search input field just gets emptied and nothing else happens. This is completely broken.

I don’t like how the email subscription thing is the first thing visible on the main app listing page (e.g. https://payonceapps.com/explore/platform-windows). It’s very annoying and obtrusive. Also, the website has literally no privacy policy information, collecting emails from people like this is not user friendly, and could even be illegal depending where you are based at.

Since price is one of your main selling points here, I would prefer to see the price information at the main app listing UI instead of having to click to open the app’s individual page.

It’s very confusing why the tag boxes on the left show the mouse handpoint cursor to indicate that they are clickable, but on the main app listing UI the exactly same looking tag boxes don’t do that. And when I click them, there is a substantial delay when nothing is happening, making me think the website is glitching again (just like how the search is not working at all).

Overall, I really like this idea, and I hope you could fix the mentioned issues and this would be very nice!

  • Why is there a blurry video on the background of the over the fold area? It contributes nothing, except confusion.

It’s also confusing why it is asking for my email address. What is this? An email subscription form? That’s what it looks like. What will you do with the email addresses you collect? No idea. But I’m already getting a bad first impression of this product.

The video under the “get started” button also makes no sense. It has a bunch of cards with random words quickly moving around. If this is supposed to explain your product, it doesn’t. It’s just very confusing.

Same with the “There’s a better way” video. Why is everything so quick and why is there no video controls so I can at least try to watch it from the beginning?

I would rather see one proper video about how this product works, preferably with audio explaining how to use it, than these cocaine-speed non controllable mute videos on the front page.

I have a feeling this is a great product but right now, the landing page is doing a very poor job showing how this exactly works.

  • The over the fold area looks visually messy. There are too many fonts, colors and concepts going on in here. Some of the color choices make texts difficult to read, such as the blue font over blue background on “sadness”.

Having hair growing on a brain might sound as a good concept in design phase, but the longer I look at these brain characters, the weirder they look. Almost morbid.

The way the logo is displayed at top left corner is awkward, with parts of the logo cropped out. I’m not a fan of the logo itself, either. It’s like the overall look of the website: messy and overly complicated.

It’s weird why the Contact link the the header navigation menu doesn’t use the handpoint mouse cursor, but Privacy link next to it does.

Many things on the website are indicating that not a lot of care has been invested into polishing this. For example, some sentences start with a non capitalized letter like under Entertainment Space, the sentence start as “a space for you to fill…”

Similarly, you are using a different apostrophe character at different parts of the website. Sometimes it’s the ’ character such as in “You’ll also be able” and sometimes it’s the ’ character such as in “studies your mind’s weaknesses”.

The video on “development space” looks like someone took way too much LSD. I have literally no idea what is going on here.

My overall impression is that this is overly complicated and just weird.

  • Considering your traffic is built around a very specific task (file conversion), and it is inherently people who want something for free, I would approach this by contacting some of the biggest companies of the niche who make similar products and ask whether they would be interested in some kind of cooperation.

For example, every time someone converts a file, you thank them and then show them a link that in case they need to also edit the file a bit, they can use this product.

I could imagine developers of such product would be very keen on having their product recommended this way.

  • So instead of just sending someone email, I would need to go to some random awkward looking website, type in their email to that website (with no idea what this website is going to do with all these email addresses it collects), and then I can send an email, which the receiver then needs to access via Google Sheets.

Sure, this will block all spam emails.

It will also block 99.99% of every other emails, because no one is going to do all these awkward steps to send someone an email.

The website is very clear in what it does. Visually, it’s lacking color, green seems to be the only color there.

I typed in a location (Porto, Portugal) and dates. The “We’re gathering your trip details, please be patient…” has been spinning already for many minutes and there is no indication whether this thing is ever going to complete or is it even doing anything.

After a wait that was way too long, the page finally showed my itinerary which started off like:

"Sure! Here’s a golf trip itinerary for Porto, Portugal from November 30, 2023, to November 30, 2023:

    Day 1:

    • Arrival in Porto, Portugal
    • Check-in at your hotel
    • Rest and relax
    • Explore the city of Porto, visit the historic center, and enjoy the local cuisine and culture

    Day 2:

    • Breakfast at the hotel
    • Play golf at Oporto Golf Club, one of the oldest golf clubs in Portugal
    • Enjoy lunch at the golf club’s restaurant
    • Explore the nearby attractions, such as the Foz do Douro beach and the Douro River
    • Dinner at a local restaurant in Porto"

If you look carefully, you already notice one rather obvious problem: I said I will be in Porto for one day. Yet, this thing produced me an itinerary for 8 days.

And the itinerary isn’t that amazing. For example, the 8th day of my 1 day golf trip in Porto is: "Day 8:

    • Breakfast at the hotel"

That’s it. Have a breakfast. With all due respect, I think I might have been able to figure out myself that I should eat breakfast at a hotel.

Also, some of the golf related recommendations aren’t that great, either. For example, during day 4 of my one day golf trip to Porto, the tool is recommending me to go to Amarante Golf Club.

Okay, Amarante Golf Club is 52 kilometers away from Porto. It’s about a 13 hour walk. How am I supposed to go there? The tool doesn’t say anything about that.

Why does this thing recommend me to go to 52 kilometers away to Amarante Golf Club yet it doesn’t mention anything about Citygolf Porto which is within the city?

On the other hand, I just asked ChatGPT “What are the best places to play golf in Porto, Portugal?” and it told me this:

"Oporto Golf Club: This is one of the oldest golf courses in Portugal and is located in Espinho, a short distance from Porto. It has a challenging layout and beautiful surroundings.

Estela Golf Club: Situated near Póvoa de Varzim, this links-style course is known for its seaside location and is considered one of the top golf courses in Portugal.

Citygolf Porto: Located within the city of Porto, this is a smaller golf facility that offers a convenient option for those looking to play in the city.

Quinta do Fojo: This course is located in Maia, just outside Porto. It’s known for its well-maintained fairways and challenging design."

As this stands right now, I don’t see any benefits for using this tool instead of just asking ChatGPT.

If you want your tool to have benefits over ChatGPT, you need to work on this a lot. You could start by adding distance and pricing related information that ChatGPT doesn’t have.

  • I think the main description line “Explore synonyms and antonyms of any word” doesn’t really describe this thing very well, considering it doesn’t mention anything about slang.

Clicking the magnifying glass button or just hitting enter on the input field while it is empty results in 404 error message.

But I think the main problem is that the quality of data doesn’t seem very high.

For example, I typed in the word “man” and got a description of “someone who serves in the armed forces; a member of a military force” and some of the slang synonyms seem wrong, such as “sighs” and “MP”. And many other slang results are so odd, it’s difficult for me to know whether any of these are correct since some seem so obviously wrong. This creates mistrust and I think being able to trust the results of thesaurus, being that for slang or not, is a very high priority.

I next tried your second most popular term, which is “home”. Its description seems okay, but some of the synonyms seem clearly wrong, such as “can” (which is repeated two times) and “.3”.

I kind of like this idea, I just wish the data quality was a lot better. Right now, I couldn’t see myself using this for anything, as I would literally need to double check every data point from somewhere else.

Would you produce a high quality video about some product you don’t care about not for $100 but for a mere possibility of winning $100? If not, don’t be surprised that not many people find your offer interesting either.

As an employer at Freelancer.com with over 900 projects done, I can assure you that typically in this type of platform you get what you pay for: A high price doesn’t guarantee high quality, but low price will almost always guarantee low quality.
