I have developed an app that attracts approximately 300-500 new users per day, with a daily active user base of around 1000. However, despite this growth, I am struggling to generate revenue and cover the ongoing costs associated with the app’s maintenance.

Is this app still valuable?

Post to r/saasforsale. Someone will want it, or spark ideas for you on how to monetize it.

    That’s certainly a strong audience.

    You either:

    1. Spend time figuring out the business model (not easy)
    2. Spend time finding a buyer who thinks it’s worth what you think it’s worth (also not easy)
    3. you shut it down without spending any more time on it. (Easy)

Pick one and go all in.

List this app in some startup marketplace to sell. See if there are any buyers. If yes - you know.

Hey, Firstly congratulations for your growth.

In general, Daily acquiring 300+ users is a really good number… but still we have to know more about the problem statement, product and mainly its north star metric.

If you like to discuss the same as a product person I can help you with the same.

    Best wishes

It’s impossible to say without seeing the app.

For example, if the entire pitch of your app is “do this for free”, then ever monetizing that is going to be difficult, because your users will probably not want to pay anything.

Then again, if your daily active user base is big enough, you can start to show your users ads and get paid that way.

Good luck! Sounds like a great achievement already!

    I agree with Jouni :).

There are many variables to take into consideration. I’d suggest diving into business models and see if anything may tingle, and inspire you.

If your stickiness index is over 30% then your app is healthy AF (Daily Active Users/Monthly Active Users).

There are multiple ways to monetize an app:

    • Adsense/Admob or other ad networks.
    • Affiliate links
    • Paid placements from companies in the same industry -> I like this one the most as it’s very flexible and you’re usually paid a performance fee every month.
    • Microtransactions
    • Paid version -> If there’s a feature that would make your users’ lives much better, then go for this, it’s low effort/high reward.

If you can provide more details about the app either through here or DMs I’ll be happy to help.

Traffic is an asset, and some people are more interested in acquiring websites with a lot of traffic rather than MRR. But honestly, 300-500 is still too low, even if it is super targeted audience. That is the only assessment I can make based on the limited information you have provided.
