  • couple of things

    1. women tend to be hardwired for certain things, one thing that tends to go along with creating a nest, and things they find attractive in a partner would be some level of security. alot of women may be looking to the future saying “this crazy son of a bitch is making all these crazy risks while Im trying to settle down and maybe make a family or have some form of security, what if he starts a business and loses it all when we have kids?” especially when a woman is more dependent on her man. now this is a generalization. maybe your girl doesnt even want any of that, but… alot of times women serve as the “voice of reason”

    2. she may be way more risk averse than you

    3. it can be hard for other people to see the vision, sometimes much more concrete plans give confidence, like a business plan

also, have you talked to her about this? communication solves alot or might help get you on the same page

  • I watched the founder and honestly I was expecting a heart warming story about a startup, but really it seemed like Ray Kroc just sort of got lucky and stumbled across an incredible production model that two other guys devised, stole it, and then happened to get stopped by Ryan Howard from the office who told him to make it into a real estate business

I mean its semi inspiring, but part of it was like, he didnt really do much outside of taking other peoples ideas and capitlize on them

if anything, it showed me if you have a good service or product, do your own business, and also guard your ideas. one thing that stuck out to me was Ray Kroc was listening to motivational tapes on the road, which I do

    not in my experience.

spent at least 2 years in therapy for depression

it can be nice to pay someone to listen to your shit

but I dont really need someone to just tell me to do the things I already know I should be doing

I feel like the entire session was just catching them up to how I felt and providing context and very rarely got to anything meaningful, and nothing that was really life changing

  • personally, I want to do photo/video work professionally, and have been doing so, its tough. competitive and right now is kind of an economic downturn. doesnt mean it isnt possible. we should both try, however, I have two jobs, one in video that is contract work, and I work anywhere from 0-4 days a week, and then I also have an amazon job thats flexible. I can pick up anywhere from 12 to 30 hours a week. so I have two part time semi flexible jobs to allow me to build on the side…

food for thought. however I live in my parents basement, so I do have a safety net

  • alot of micro mobility stuff and drone stuff sounds fun but I dont think they would work super well. I just couldnt beat Lime and the lyft bikes

one thing I was thinking was a drone fleet that could salt driveways in the winter? but at best its like an add on to a landscaping/snow removal, and might be hard to get approval for, plus itd be loud as shit

I also had a weird idea that may work, but also might be stupid, but I had an idea for a mechanic shop that also linked with a restaurant, or was next door. so people could eat and drink while they get quick services, and if they drank too much, they could leave their car overnight for service and get drunk and a ride home
