I know this sounds like a troll post, but I am serious.

I have a pretty chill job and get to browse Reddit quite a bit. I especially enjoy hitting the random button and finding new subreddits and getting interesting ideas and perspectives on topics I don’t normally think about or know of.

Is there anyway to capitalize on this? I’d love to be able to harness this information and knowledge into something that people would find useful. The only thing I can think of sharing this information via social media posts (tik tok, instagram), but that doesn’t sound too exciting to me.

    Reddit is full of hidden gems. You can literally identify a product, find out what’s good about it and what’s bad about it, build a prototype with a sub, turn them into your own community and bang, you have a business.

    Get a job.

    This is not the right mindset if you want to start a business.

    Business is about finding a market, finding what its needs and problems are, and finding a way to provide a solution.

    The market does not care about what you enjoy. It only cares if you can solve their problems or provide solutions to achieve what they want.

    I mean blogging or making videos and making into informative/entertaining content is probably a legit good way to do so, those exist. but you can do a twist on it. you could consider hiring an animator or other type of editor/animator to create visuals, AI voice or paid VO, or do it yourself

    however there is already alot of content like this, hence finding a decent twist. Ive even thought about this alot

    This is kinda how I imagine Elon Musk’s day most days. Go to some meetings. Say uh-huh, yep, sounds good a lot. Browse X on his phone and argue with blue-haired feminists. Lol at how he “owned” them (in his head).

    Basically, be rich, be a boss, have a company that more or less runs itself with or without you, but be on top of it anyways. And spend your days doing whatever bullshit you want.

    I take it you’re not rich, so that’s a strike against you. So you need to start some business, build it up to a substantial size, with skilled employees who can run it, yet keep yourself at the very top of the food chain. Pay yourself a large salary, do a bit of work here and there, and do whatever the F you want all day while other people make you rich(er).

    Did you expect any other answer, honestly?

    Journalist! r/neworleans (greatest city subreddit ever) is regularly monitored by local journalists. Story ideas in our mid sized market are actively introduced here. Complaints and reports of local injustice, corruption, or even colorful happenings are picked up and followed by journalists who the reach out to sources and begin their stories.
