Haven’t heard many horror stories about gusto is any at all. Really love using them for my 2 businesses. Super easy to navigate and figure out especially if you’re a beginner to payroll. My wife took on our payroll with 0 experience for 15 employees in 2 businesses. And gusto isn’t even the most expensive option. Gusto is great as a payroll and HR option. I use both it and QuickBooks for both my businesses, QuickBooks for bookkeeping obviously. QuickBooks payroll from what I see on this sub isn’t that great. I like Gusto bc its just so friendly to beginners for onboarding new employees and it walks through every step.
