The most impactful advice that I’ve been given, is that you shouldn’t take to heart what unsupportive friends/family say, especially if they don’t really know what you actually do. Oh, and that the best business ideas are things that people would rather not do themselves, and for a decent price. It’s my first time going into this venture, and seeing what works, and what doesn’t. With that being said,

What useful advice have you guys come across? How did it help you?

The best advice I ever got was it doesn’t matter how good your service or product is if no one knows about it

It’s a never ending journey of learning. If you’re not keeping up with what’s happening in the world, you’re a target of disruption. Also to quote judge Judy “you have two ears and one mouth for a reason, use them to listen”.

Embrace failure as a stepping stone to success, understanding that each setback is an opportunity to learn, grow and refine your approach.

Honestly it’s become a joy for me in my business this year as I attemptes to on board 4 different artists and ended up “firing” them each because they didn’t meet my needs for a variety of reasons. This means I spent an extra year + executing a task aka a failure each time an artist did not workout but since finding the artist that works seamlessly with my vision I am grateful for all those failures and now I just see failures as me firing anything that isn’t in alignment with my core intention/vision.

Few ways to be successful/make money:

    1. Be lucky
    2. Work hard and be lucky
    3. Work smart and be lucky

I.e. always account for the fact that there is randomness, and if you fail, don’t get all discouraged and try again.

You will never be 100% ready to start a business More is lost to indecision than wrong decision. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.
