  • There are already free solutions with huge user bases

For forum like discussions you Reddit
For relay chat like discussions you have Discord

Then you have Facebook Groups, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter/X etc.

You can easily hop on a free voice or video call with anyone using Zoom, Google Meet, etc

That said, maybe I’m unsure what you mean by “coffee chats” or what you would be looking for or providing that is different from the free, and very popular existing solutions.

  • Respectfully, wrong idea for the wrong industry.

Others already hinted at some items, but maybe I can expand.

1 - The amount of people who call in orders is minute, there are so many apps where you can visually see your order, items, total, driver location, payment options etc that it has completely wiped the floor with call-in orders

2 - For the ones who actually DO call in, if it’s super busy, staff may just straight up tell you to order on an app for faster service.

3 - It would be annoying AF. People are hungry, want food now. They don’t want to verbally speak each item to a machine, who then needs to confirm, and then correct over and over if machine reads incorrectly (likely).

4 - This also removes the likelyhood of actual, real-time questions - which is more of why people actually call. IE how busy is it in there? how long will this take? etc etc. Not even getting into customizing orders

5 - The system would also not have real time updates of what is 86’d etc. Things like Ubereats etc is integrated into the restaurant POS and automatically gets real-time data

6 - Even if all of the above were non-existent. The call system is only one part of the puzzle. How are orders ACTUALLY being placed and sent to kitchen / pos?

7 - You are going to have a hell of a time trying to sell this on any actual restaurant, especially if you expect them to pay for anything, even if it’s a percentage of sales. They will also just see this as a dated and flawed solution to an already solved and profitable venture like food delivery/pickup apps.
