Is the business idea viable; do you actually believe it will be successful? Are you willing to code the entire thing by yourself on your free time and potentially drop out of school if it becomes profitable? If so, then go for it.
Just find something you want to build and figure it out along the way. You’ll screw up, have to redo it later, but that is really the only way to learn.

Lots of good comments here but thought I’d mention: Trends are trends for a reason - typically (albeit not always) there is some practical reason why said trend is popular. The problem is when people generically apply the trend without thinking of the reason why that may be useful for them. This is why a first-principles approach to design is so important.
