This is a role that typically a lot of people are unable to do themselves well and often mess up. I say this as a senior engineer that has been around for a few years and helped multiple startups and had friends who worked at some. It seems founders don’t know what they are doing well ans do it with a developer mindset and it goes badly longer term and costs more money.

I’ve considered offering initial build outs as a service for pretty cheap using a standard system to try to solve this issue then either offer ongoing support or a basic answering of questions ongoing. This is a project/service I am planning to use to fund my own startup I am in the process of developing.

I am wondering where those in this sub typically look for people to provide this service.

    upwork.

and make sure to do an interview, challenge the candidate and do testing for them. because some of them claim they know things that they don’t know.

if you don’t have technical background, ask for help before hiring.

I have several times been the first employee to take on this role. Based on what I’ve seen, ain’t nobody been doing that work before I get there.

Check out Micro1. We’re interviewing a couple of candidates that they’ve screened and they seem capable.
