Paychex has managed to seriously piss me off yet again. Payday came last week and no pay stubs - the courier showed up with an envelope that was empty except for the cover sheet. I contacted my rep and it took three days to get an answer. Turns out it’s just something corporate does - they’ll find customers they think should be getting internet-only delivery of pay stubs and switch them.

I received no notice. No one warned me that I’d have to start managing employee accounts to get them access. They simply stopped providing the service I’d signed up for.

Last time it was a sales rep calling with scare tactics saying I was out of compliance with something that didn’t take effect for a year and wouldn’t apply to me anyway, but it was a chance for them to try to upsell me on something.

I’ve already reached out to a local company. ADP seems to be the other big name in the field, though. Are they any less awful than Paychex or is it going to be more of the same?

If you care about how the costs are managed, I would not go with ADP. They are very ambiguous with their fees, and I could not get a straight answer from their sales and service reps. They wanted me to change from Insperity and told me about how much more I would save by switching. When I asked for a breakdown, they could never produce any hard numbers.
