I’ve noticed that whenever I post an idea for a startup or even a concept for anew script I’m writing I’m often downvoted or discouraged from the idea. I’ll have a small group of supporters while everybody else is either against me or I’m constantly ignored. It’s lonely and I often lose motivation on my projects because of this… I know that I’m still a beginner at this but it really kills my spirit especially when people close to you don’t think too highly of your ideas… .

Maybe because most people on an entrepreneurial journey are dealing with the challenges of filling gaps and overcoming challenges building their business.

The can’t always see what you see and don’t necessarily get your insights.

And as they keep mentioning, an idea is practically worthless (unless you have idea for a flashlight that can convert lead to gold and you’ve already validated the science).

On the other hand, if you’ve invested time to translate your idea into a business model with key challenges identified and investigated, you’re on your way on your entrepreneurial challenge.

With the general concept shared as a business model, people will be able to help fill in the gaps and overcome that many obstacles as you start building your startup.

Your primary goal at this point is to reach the “viable and sustainable” business milestone. And if you startup looks like a baby Unicorn then you’ve struck gold.

Yes, it’s a lonely and challenging journey taking the “road less traveled.” You carry the flame and the journey continues…

Whatever the outcome, you are now an entrepreneur.

As a reminder - most people think brushing their teeth two times a day is dumb. Or wearing masks when you’re sick.

Long story short, if your idea was killer on this sub - enough to garnish a ton of upvotes. Someone is likely already stealing your idea.

PS the idea is way less important than the execution.

Yes, that is intentional. Most people might not like your dream. It certainly takes some work to find new people that love the work your doing or improve your pitch, a challenge all entrepreneurs face.

Read the Millionaire Fastlane of DeMarco. That would give you some motivation if you haven’t read it before. Otherwise, just remember that nothing good can come up out of doing nothing. Doing is the only way of having a shot.

    Good luck mate!

Reddit is the most negative space I have ever been in, It’s like the virgins need to tear everyone down to their level.
