Saw a post today about a girl being a “pet psychic” who is apparently super successful. Wondered what other examples are out there.

So far so good but I run a cruise vacation for D&D and one for Gaming/Cosplay. It’s not full time though, just a side hustle that is growing each year.

It’s super niche and ‘dumb’ to alot of folk according to some social media comments we get on ads, yet here we are lol.

You probably call them up and say, “I represent the Guild of Extraordinary Voyages. We’re on a quest to forge an alliance that transcends the realms of the mundane and sails into the fantastical seas of opportunity. Your cruise expertise combined with our guild’s creative magic can craft an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. Do you accept?”

I used to work on cruises and this stuff happens pretty frequently. We used to have a Christian gospel group charter the boat and another time it was chartered by a vitamin mlm company.

I can’t imagine doing this with the potential for lack of wifi strength on the water. Are people even able to use their phones?

You can but most of the activities are focused on local play and titles without internet requirements. Though as of like last year the ships have Starlink and we were able to play some Valorant and FF14 pvp matches to test it out in the ships conference center. I look forward to the connection getting even better to do online stuff :)

They just introduced a Cosplay Cruise for the first time as part of Comic Con Africa, it seems cool but just so far out of budget for your average comiccon attendee. I understand why it costs what it does though.

Yeah definitely pricey, part of our audience though is older and really invested in their hobbies with others. They like the ability to take a cruise as they may have normally but then enjoy the trip with like minded folk with things to do between port visits that appeal to our geeky minds.

That’s the key. You get to book a vacation & know you’ll be surrounded by people who at the very least share 1 interest with you.

I went to Fan Expo with my husband & we had a great time wandering around, but didn’t meet anyone. We hung out & then went home. I imagine if you’re staying overnight, having meals, drinks etc it’s more conducive to being social. Love this idea!
