Wondering what payroll provider everybody is using? Currently using Workday & just feels too complex for my needs.

So far looking at Gusto & Paycom & wondering if anybody has used either of them before ?

We went from quickbooks, to ADP and now homebase. ADP was insanely expensive, complex and way too in depth for 24 employees. Homebase doubles as our scheduling program which is great since we have mostly part time employees who’s schedule changes often.

I’m pretty sure homebase was cheaper than ADP AND I was getting 50% discount on ADP run. It was horrible for on boarding and for the employee side and clunky running reports. Also their scheduling program was insanely expensive and terrible for us to schedule people.

What advantages do you notice using Homebase over quick books? We maintain around 25 employees and have been using QB for around 8 years now. Always looking for better alternatives.

Honestly QB was fine until there was a problem. Our accountant was hacked and someone accessed our payroll and sent out 20k in fraudulent direct deposits overnight. This was not QB’s fault at all BUT:
1: They were unable to be contacted in time, even the fraud dept wasn’t responding
2: They refused to work with me, even with police reports to get bank info for the fraudulent accounts so I could get the money stopped.
3: Since they refused to help, I had to chase down 15k worth of deposits that went out.
4: They locked my account and refused to let me pay my team.
5: Held my tax info and payments hostage and sent me to collections for refusing to pay fees on closed account. It was wild.
6: Accountant said QB refused to assist in anyway even with lawyers and police reports.

Homebase was always our scheduling program. For simple timecards, payrolls and simple taxes, they have been super easy and fast. Easy to track PTO, punch in times and a easy scheduling issue for my GM and the younger employees we have working for us.
