I own a very new, very small business selling underboob sweat protectors.

This morning I posted an offer on my page. It wasn’t a big offer but it was a saving. We’re talking a £1 saving here. Trust me, that’s important information.

I get a comment on my offer: “if you can afford to post offers like that, why don’t you just drop your prices? 🙄”

I’m horrified. I don’t understand what the motivation was behind it… I don’t think my prices are unreasonable at all and I’m not sure why someone would say that?

    Make them feel stupid.

“I can’t afford to drop the price, the offer is a form of advertising to get new customers to explore my product and hopefully tell others how it has benefitted them. The 1 pound savings is coming from my budget and is a temporary loss to hopefully increase sales overall”

Somehow, people have this idea that business owners should provide products and services without profiting. It’s not communism, not even sure that this type of thought has a name, but it’s just mindblowing to me the entitlement. Comments like that should just be ignored and don’t deserve a response in all reality.

You do you, and don’t let it get to you.

Don’t do this, OP. You’ll look like an amateur and an asshole to other customers. Be an adult, ignore the comment and move on. Engaging with dickheads in the comment section, especially over nothing comments like this one, is a great way to tank both your brand and reputation in just a few seconds.
