I would spend that $1000 on events and partnerships with local businesses.

I owned and operated a cafe for several years. Started at ~$350/day, when I sold it, we were doing $1000-1500 everyday.

Could be profitable or not. I’ve changed careers, sold businesses, and shut down businesses just because I was “over it”

I don’t like the “never give up and you’ll always win” mindset because life just doesn’t work that way. It’s not fair. It’s not always or only contingent on how bad or how long you want it.

Instead, I think of businesses and side projects like investing in the stock market, but instead of trading in dollars, I’m trading in time, effort, and ideas.

I don’t put all my dollars in one position and then hold it forever and expect to win big.

I spread that investment out across multiple positions expecting that any of them could be big but most won’t.

The real loss is simply not playing the game at all.

Enter your plant and receive daily or weekly notifications about care. Also, view a library of videos for care and poor health warning signs.

Could also connect with other plant owners and keep a daily picture log of your plant. Culminates in a slideshow diary at the end of the year “look how much your plant has grown”

Could also develop into home gardening. Giving gardeners tips on how much to water and when to harvest.

But I don’t really care about plants that much and I’m not a plant parent myself, nor do. I really want to learn the industry.

Also, the name I came up with: Plant Parenthood 🤣

I’ve run into a few people on Reddit and Twitter that I’ve talked back and forth with. Testing each others ideas.

Not necessarily partnering together, but it feels like a little community.

I wouldn’t.

If I had that money with that knowledge, I’d find Bezos and invest all of it for as much equity as possible.

Then just sit back and reap the rewards without the work.

Even if I knew what Amazon would become and had some cash to start, I would also know that I’d be going up against one of the most fierce entrepreneurs of this time.

I think even in this situation, almost no one would beat him.

Yours is a bit of a tough sell though since it sounds like you are the only one working in the business.

So it’s basically just selling a job.

If you can hold off, I would hire someone to work the market, then sell the business to a competitor
