At least in my state (TN), you can get a free TOSHA inspector from the state to come by and audit everything. Super helpful and they don’t charge - you pay for it already with your taxes.
I would hope other states do the same. This doesn’t equal ‘forever compliance’ though, you still have to be mindful and compliant with everything they find, but it’s a good peace of mind.
