Always sort of working.
There is no such thing and neither the employer or employee should expect “family”. It makes me crazy when that term is thrown around. Everyone (as they should) acts in their own rational best interest.
Ive come to realize there is no loyalty. Im not mad about it, it’s human nature. Doesn’t matter that you put in the blood sweat tears and capital to get it started. If they feel like they can run the joint, they will try. Especially if they feel like you are absent. It will embolden them even more.
One business I accepted the fate and adjusted the model to at least stay alive. Other business is so damn complicated and expensive there is no way an employee could pull that stuff off
