This always grinds my gears. I’m soooo sick of people who “know” me thinking that means they can also exploit me.

Isn’t it weird how some people only show support when you seem to be struggling? But the moment you’re successful it’s like their brain goes “oh clearly this person doesn’t need support anymore because they’re doing well.” My parents were like this growing up. Like, you seem to have your shit together so you’re good on the emotional support, right?

If these friendships mean something to you, then maybe bring it up with them the next time you hang out together. It could be that they’re going through something in their personal lives and it therefore wasn’t on their mind to validate another one of your business milestones on social media.
