  • Thinking they have to be passionate about the industry they want to venture in. You really think a recycle center owner for example was really passionate about recycling trash before opening up? Most weren’t. Also Thinking that they have to come up with a brand new concept/idea for a business. Thinking that they can start a business with no particular skills or connections or any competitive advantages. Not bothering to research and understand the concept of supply and demand & competitive advantage.

  • Bro honestly most people start a business in whatever field they’re already working… but instead of doing it for the company they’re working for, they just start doing it for themselves. As you can see, most people have told you they already had experience in that industry and just decided to venture on their own. They weren’t laying down in their bed and a new idea just popped in their head. So get a job in an industry you’re interested in, pay attention on what the company you work for sells and who they sell it to. Then learn to provide those same services/products and one day start doing it on your own…

  • What you said you want to know is what marketing is… marketing is placing a product in the right place at the right price with the right promotion… the product doesn’t matter, it’s the distribution that matters… China makes a ton of garbage products and they sell… I forgot where I read this statement but it said something like this “a lot of the New York best selling books are best sellers because they have better distributors than more quality books lacking good distributors “

Because there’s not enough people knowledgeable enough that “want” to contribute with quality content consistently for free. The ones that are knowledgeable enough don’t have the time to share valuable knowledge because they’re not getting nothing out of it, they would rather use that time applying what they know in the real world to make real money. Especially because most people on this sub want to learn how to make money without investing any money or hiring a consultant so there’s nothing to gain here for a person with real business knowledge and experience. Like someone else right here said, maybe if you ask a specific question someone that knows may see it and answer it. But I also see a ton of awful advice from people who have never taken business classes or started a business. So you might have a hard time distinguishing between good and bad advice if you don’t have a business background.
