So far it just seems to be a bunch of. “How do I get rich”, “would this be profitable,”and irrelevant things to entrepreneurship. Or people suggesting drop shipping or learn coding or some bullshit like that, everybody’s heard a thousand times. Why don’t we discuss actually important things like how to network, how to build email chains you know how to form contacts you know forming different types of businesses, filing taxes. And different marketing ideas

You wasted a post when you could’ve changed the fate of this subreddit by doing what you say should be done! shame.

We get plenty of marketing posts, all from marketers who want to take your money your business. Spammers. We don’t need more of them. If you want to talk marketing go to /r/marketing.

What you (and many others who will continue saying the same thing) have to realize is that this subreddit is meant to be a bouncing pad for ideas.

In other words you come here, ask what you need to know, then start taking action.

For those who want to see what others are up to at r/Entrepreneur, it gives us a chance to give in our input from a large pool of experience we have from our disposal.

The last thing you want to do is come to this subreddit, read the threads for 4 hours a day, everyday, and feel like you were being productive the entire time.

“Thread” refers to an individual post not an entire subreddit so this post title just means “this post sucks” lol

There are two main issues getting in the way of effecting the type of forum you are looking for.

The first is general desperation among the people on the forum. Most of the people posting here are broke or stuck in dead end jobs and are looking for some way, any way, to escape that pain. They are not in a position to contribute to the community in any meaningful way. Maybe someday they could, when they get on their feet, but by then, they have likely moved on from here.

The second issue is how broad the topic of entrepreneurship is. When you go to more narrow subreddits like /r/videography, you see a lot more practical discussion because even though that forum includes everything from hobbyists, to salaried employees, to freelancers, to producers, they have a lot more in common than the people posting on /r/entrepreneur. On the videography sub, you can ask a camera question, and people will answer it. You can ask about how to deal with a conflict with a difficult client, and people from the same industry talk about how they handle the same situation. On this sub, everything tends to be written in much more general terms.
