Hello guys,

I am just wondering what are some of the annoying things with the softwares that you are using at the moment. Whether it be the price or just missing out on key features, please discuss them and we can find alternatives etc!

I’m not the biggest fan of bubble.io at the moment because it costs far too much for workflows and you get locked in on their app.

Looking forward to hearing what you think

I wouldn’t say that I don’t like using it, but Microsoft word and Google docs have become almost inexistent after I started using Notion.

I’m forced to use Confluence at work and hate it. I’d much rather use a Google Doc or Word.

It frequently overwrites my work with others concurrently making changes and it’s WYSIWYG changes from what I see while I’m working vs after I save (usually the format saves wrong).

Unpopular opinion: slack. I just find it obfuscated. Some of the panels are completely counterintuitive, I find more straightforward teams or zoom but slack has the “startup coolish charm”.

The new look is really making people mad too

But I’ll take slack over email any day if the week

We have had a few people come from a company using teams and said they liked teams better. These same people though don’t seem to handle slack well or even the culture of it

So, talking about software that’s not my cup of tea, let me share a story from my own experience. I once had to use a project management tool called Projectinator. It was a nightmare! The interface was clunky, and it seemed like it was designed by someone who’d never managed a project in their life. The way it handled task assignments and notifications was just frustrating. Plus, it was a bit of a budget drain, which added to the misery.
I eventually found an alternative, ProofHub, and it was like a breath of fresh air. Intuitive, efficient, and cost-effective, it made my project management tasks a breeze. It just goes to show that sometimes, finding the right software fit can make a world of difference in your productivity and overall experience.

    Microsft Windows.

It keeps updating at the worst times, and takes ages.

I work at a startup that got acquired and amalgamated into a massive corporate.

It was my first time using Google suite (drive, meet, calendar) slack, and a pretty straightforward PTO calendar.

We migrated onto MS suite. MS Teams, Workday for PTO, Outlook for meetings and emails. (I’ve used them before for several years at another job, so have pretty decent exposure now.)

We all hate it. The UX is just downright worse and they’re generally magnitudes less intuitive. I’d say a good 80% of the 500 strong workforce hates Microsoft suite in a direct comparison to Google suite and Slack.

Corporates gonna corporate though, and MS is the industry standard.

On a side note: it’s also my first time using a MacBook and I was blown away by how intuitive it actually is. Thankfully we get to keep those.
