Hi, so in the title that was really happened. The job posting offers $10 - $12 per hour and was remote work. I’m in the PH and I think that’s a decent pay so i did my best during the interviews. Given that I have 5years worth of experience in E-Commerce Industry which what they’re looking for. The hiring process took almost 1 month but I still wait because the recruiter said that I was shortlisted already.

So for the main issue, I have received the offer email that said $1160 per month. Which I think is okay. But it was indicated there that the position is temporary for 3mos and with good performance will have a chance to make it long term or permanent. Okay so I’m okay with that because I’m confident in my performance. They also said that after acknowledging the offer email they will send me the contract to sign. So i did just that but what I received is just another email saying that there was a mistake in the job offer that I will only get $7/ hour. I do the math base on 160-work hours per month, it should be $7.25, i know it’s kinda low but for me they’re lowballing me. At first my expected salary is $9-12 per hour and then they will be giving me $7/hour?? So I sent an email explaining the miscalculations and saying that given my 5years experience and market value I negotiate to $7.25/hr.

Questions are:

  1. Is it okay? What will the recruiter and HR will think of me?

  2. Would they send me a response?

  3. Am I still getting the job? HAHAHA

Let me know your thoughts.

Do you still want the job if they come back and say it’s $7/hr firm?

I don’t know how they will respond, they’re clearly jerked you around advertising 10-12 then switching to $7. So you may get some kind of gaslighting response, but I would t worry about whatever they say. If you’re willing to job for 7 or 7.25 then continue the conversation if not move on.
