Hey everyone! I’m deep in the prototyping phase for my MVP and am considering kicking off with a Concierge MVP. Planning to transition to a Wizard of Oz MVP and eventually an Alpha version. Has anyone taken a similar path? I’m eager to hear about your experiences, challenges, and wins. Any tips or stories you can share would be awesome. Hoping to learn from those who’ve walked this road before!
Strip everything back to the most basic way you could ever offer your thing/service at all. I wouldn’t even worry about the specifics of a concierge MVP or how to move to WoOz until you have a customer.
Start with a landing/sell page and, as long as you know you could supply what you’re offering wait and see what happens. If you’re swamped and unable to keep supplying all your customers… GREAT!
Totally agree. Right now, the concierge thing is all about handling one small client using my way (that’s why I’m documenting everything to automate later).
The tip about the landing page is super helpful. I’m kinda stuck trying to break down this ‘methodology’ for folks who aren’t tech-savvy, and they’re mostly who I’m targeting.
Something to be careful about is that your concierge MVP should be something that can be realistically be developed by you or a team.
Your tech debt can easily get out of hand using this style of MVP. But if it’s the fastest way for you to test your thesis then it’s still worth doing.
Makes sense, and that’s good advice, thanks! I will try to keep it realistic by having a well-defined flow process.
9 out of 10 providers are trash and just advertise some basic thing that isn’t particularly hard to do internally.
Marketing is a critical function that is often outsourced. Outsource the specific details, not the overall picture. You know your product and market better than anyone.
If you’re absolutely flush with cash bring in a hitter for a launch consulting setup but an agency is almost always a waste of money at the early stage
Not sure how is this related to the MVP question. Can you explain more?
Any recommendations for a launch consulting setup
Our company creates customer facing docs quite frequently. Visit us at www.spruceivory.com for more information.

We work with startups releasing technical products to assist with creating technical documentation to support their clients and gain new ones. If you’re releasing an MVP and need documentation created, keep us in mind.
