Hello! What do you charge for your services and what products do you give to your customer? I’m looking for prices and packages for real estate photography, headshots and product photography. And how much would you charge to give photo lessons? I was a photographer in the Air Force for 20 years, so I never dealt with paying customers. Now I’m ready to shoot on my own and I have no idea what to charge or what package to give the customer. Just looking for starting points, like, what makes sense. I don’t want to offer headshots for $1000 per photo when the average is $30 for 2 photos. That’s an extreme example but hopefully you get my point. I appreciate your input!

I’m not in the photography business but what I did and continue to do when struggling with my pricing is look at what others in your industry are charging and go from there. Factor in you expenses and you’ll start realizing where you want your prices. Good luck 👍🏽

Depends on the city. In my area I pay $125-150 for corporate headshots. This includes them driving to my office, staging the photos, and editing. I greatly prefer photographers who are direct. IE “sit like this, one arm crossed” etc vs ones that just say “act natural”. If you don’t have one, look into getting a drone and license.

You’ll have to figure out your own pricing since I don’t do photography.

But in terms of the “model” here’s what physchology would say.

Offer an entry level option, like a by-the-hour, a base package for a fixed price (this will be your best seller so price ot so you make good margins), and a premium package at a much higher price than the base package.

The base option will appeal to people that want a set price and compared to the hourly should look like good value for money. Having the premium option is mostly just to make the base option seem cheaper by comparison.

EG. $100 per hour, $495 for the base package, or $1225 for the premium package.
