I’m a black woman owned business and I’m struggling with capital. I have a high demand product (coconut soy candles) but I can’t produce at my desired capacity because of lack of supplies/materials to maintain inventory.

Does anyone know of any grant programs where I can at least access 1K-5K in funding/capital?

Thanks so much!

Reach out to your local SBA and SCORE. Also, Bank of America has a Small Business Community Engagement Director for every metro region. They will have a list of national and local grants.

Get into touch with a Natural Food Cooperative, most supply from the UNFI, where they source most natural foods. Maybe they could help you in resourcing your supplies

Not a grant but look into a microlender in your state. They are usually nonprofits and provide Microloans for just this purpose.

    Also check out Kiva.

Thank you so much for this information. I’ve never heard of a microlender. I really appreciate your insight and information on this.

Hello Alice is one, theres also one from Verizon. I don’t remember them off memory but it you go on TikTok and search for grants for black owned business/women you’ll find what you’re looking for. There’s several people who share new grants small businesses can apply for.
