Hello, I have a small web store that’s grown a lot in recent months. We mostly sell small, somewhat inexpensive items which aren’t too fragile. Most of our orders ship in a 9”x 6”x 3” box and weigh about 3/4 of a pound. We are located in California and would like to ship to Canada and the UK.

I have no clue about customs (fees?) and I’m struggling to find guides and information on what I should know. I read about a label that charges them fees up front so it won’t possibly get sent back to me.

I also don’t know how to set up a prediction of the package size when the customer checks out to estimate how much to charge them.

One day we would like to ship globally too. How did you figure out shipping for your company? Do you have any tips or cautions? What’s the best resource to learn?
