Hi everyone! I’ve just filed my first LLC & am planning to open a vintage boutique in my city- I’m completely new to owning a legitimate business of my own. I thought this would be a great question to ask as I know I’ll be making many mistakes in my first year of business.

    Don’t get swindled by Yelp. They are extremely predatory with small business owners.

      THIS. Fuck Yelp. Dont give them a penny. Google ads is slightly better if you must. Pick up these two books:

      • marketing without advertising
      • why we buy.
        While a little dated (pre internet) You’ll learn some great advice and tactics about maximizing “free” marketing opportunities, and product placement. Collaborate with other local merchants too.
