I have a problem with my business partner that he became so ignorant and flamboyant about work which i don’t like

the thing is i don’t want to continue to work with him because he always tell me that he does everything at work and i’m not crucial to the buisness and he open’s new businesses with me just because he likes me which ofc is not true i do as much work as he does and more

i don’t want to continue to work with him on the business but the problem i don’t know what to do ofc i’m going to be dumb if i left a running business and leaving all the hard work and money i have put to grow the business just because i don’t like him we always fight and we have opposite opinions

the business is not official or documented on paper anyone of both of us can kick the other but we trust each other so much no one will do that ever because we went through a lot

You only have 3 options. Make it work. buy him out or have him buy you out.

The sooner you choose the sooner you can move on.

Here’s a hard lesson. Always get it in writing. We have our corporate structure, growth plan, etc. all written down and it took about 2 hours.

Bad idea not to have things in writing. Also who is the bigger of you two? Cause that kickout might come in handy literally since there is no contract.

I agree with you. OP may feel a guilty at first, but the relationship will get worse.

Lol 😂 I did for a minute my partner decided he didn’t want to generate revenue but wanted a check. I opened another dba under my own s corp with the same name as the company with a dash in it. State called registered agent to check if it was ok, we’ll I was the agent and took the call! Boom done. Now I csn deposit checks in my s corp account and handle all the jobs on my own. Let “our” business die and took over and walked away /be left him where I found him!

None of what you said about your company structure makes any logical sense.

Given the little you have said, nobody can tell you what to do.

“I’m the one who is doing all the work without me the buisness would fall”

“If you disappear tomorrow nothing would happen the buisness will keep running”

When opening a new business and sharing my ideas with him he says “i don’t need your ideas the buisness is going to be successful anyways you are just my partner and i like you thats why i make business with you i can totally open it without you”

His ego got much higher years later he was not like that i never liked the fact being not appreciated although i deal the logistics part in the buisness and put as much effort as he does

I don’t like being ignorant at all why would i we are all equal and all of that success was because both of us worked hard

If you both don’t already have resentment & trust issues, you WILL. Take bull by horns & wrestle the biz away anyway you can. Start new biz, take customers, etc. HUGE problem is nothing in writing. Even in writing there are problems but you get to refer to your agreement. Doesn’t mean you’ll follow it, but gives you a basis if u need court. I don’t know how people open biz with no papers? Is the biz even legal? I’ve learned over the years, but u still make mistakes. You should/will learn from this. I take it you r young? The positive is you r said to be successful. (I assume you have basic bookkeeping?). Best NOT to have partners. When you DO get papers together, TRY to put in writing any ‘exit procedures’. Buyouts, terms, etc. right now, this is basically a ‘rogue biz’. Eventually, there will be legal trouble. Tell your ‘bud’ you need papers drawn up to continue. Also, imo, he’s bullying you. Re: who works harder. Maybe both keep a work diary? GL.
