I run a very small dog training service and having a website is critical to getting clients. However, I just saw a video from a “business consultant” (who sells landing pages) that maintains landing pages are better because it is less distracting than a full website as there is less content to distract them away from the offer. Anyway, I need to update my website and wanted to get your input.

Pet sitter here! I would go with an actual website. Look at Pet Marketing Unleashed. They can build a website for you (built mine for about $1500) or you can buy website templates at a much smaller fee and customize it yourself. A landing page is too basic for something as complex as training. Basically all a landing page is going to get you is: “I train dogs! Call me or email me gor a quote” you’re not going to get calls because people won’t see your credentials. They won’t have an “about me” or “meet the trainer” page to learn a little about you before deciding to get to know you. Alot of people won’t bother with a company that has some form of pricing listed, whether it be a full blown price list or just a “starting at $XX”.

TL;DR: get a website. Don’t waste your money on a landing page.
