I get a lot of self/business improvement content on YouTube. I see these Alex hormozi, Patrick Bet David, and Dan Pena (cringe) types shouting out to put the work in, just work more, millions and millions of views. Then i see on forums like this or small biz a lot of sob stories about the biz just not working.

Maybe survivorship bias, maybe luck, but i put my head down and got to work when i needed to. 60-80 hour weeks, for consecutive months on end, of effective work. Now after years of doing that it actually did get easier (temporarily I’m sure). It is running better and I’m at a point i thought would never come where I’m not actually worried about where my bills are getting paid from next month.

Im starting to think those videos are just entertainment for people to dream about instead of acting as a call to action for a lot of the viewer base. Am i just paying more attention to the failing stories than success? Or does it seem like we have too many people that genuinely think it’s as easy as watching their favorite content creator, “absorbing” what they say, and thinking the work doesn’t have to be paid in full?

You can learn forever, without doing the work you’ll get nowhere.

And you know what, it’s okay not to put in the work if you don’t want it.

Just don’t complain down the road.

One thing I can say about it is that it’s the hardest to see someone on the screen and wondering if i could ever be there too.

If you never put your heart into it and never give up it will never happen.

    Best of luck everyone 🙂
