Hi everyone,
Long time lurker here. I’ve been working on a resume building service after a few friends asked me to help them with their resumes.
The website is MyBioResume.com
I’m spending money on ads on Facebook, and I’ve spent days editing the site and marketing it. I was thinking I’d have at least one sale by now. Does anyone have any advice that might help me drive some sales?
Could use a bit more work with the website, I’m not saying it is but if I was a random user I’d think it was a scam just based off the looks of the site.
I think you could improve your website, I would add images, social media information in exchange for registration, if you need I can review your design
I think your idea is for a very small niche market.
To boost sales for MyBioResume.com, focus on fine-tuning your website for clarity and ease of use, and tailor your marketing efforts towards your ideal customer base. Consider diversifying your advertising beyond Facebook, perhaps exploring platforms like LinkedIn, and use testimonials or content marketing to establish credibility and draw in potential clients. Perseverance is key. Keep experimenting to find what resonates with your audience. https://www.cuppa.so/post/how-to-find-your-business-niche-what-should-you-focus-on
Get rid of the blindness of what actually happened to your friends from using your redesigned resumes. Nobody cares about the resume. What happened before you inserted yourself into their job hunt – what happened after?
Because there is your one-and-only sales improver. You have to acknowledge there is a lot of questionable advice, a lot of common nonsense ladled out about the job hunt. ‘Pink resume’ syndrome runs rampant.
Best set yourself apart from the rabble – quickly and firmly.
Luckily you have some experience. Helping friends counts. For starters you should strongly consider show casing your social proof. get your friends to create quick video testimonials and/or write detailed reviews on how your resumes helped them finally land the perfect job. Highlight that.
Also focus on the benefit and not the features.
Instead of “includes cover letter.” the benefit could be something along the lines of “increase your chances of landing that interview by 70% Using our proven cover letter framework”
And you should think of offer something for free as a lead generator. Maybe email download of things you’re doing wrong when writing your own resume or maybe interview quick tips and best practices.
Good Luck. Don’t stop. Keep improving.
