I’ve got a small company that offers VCT stripping and waxing. The problem I’m running into is most of my potential and ideal customers say they already have a janitorial company that offers this service.

I can run paid ads for stripping and waxing but since most of these are one offs and not recurring it really eats into my margins. So I’m wondering the following.

  1. Should I offer standard janitorial services? While it’s low margin and likely a larger headache the recurring nature would be nice.

  2. How can I get off the google/paid ads carrousel? Is cold calling and door knocking king, or are there better ways to get in front of customers.

    Can you tell us what it is that your future customers want and why they don’t get it by themselves? And what do they call themselves, “home owners” or something?

    If you do this thought exercise, you’ll be able to find them on the internet later.
