Hi everyone. Basically what the title says, I am a software engineer who loves to build. I have experience with freelance work and often contribute to open-source. I have most experience working in teams of 4 or smaller. I want to volunteer at a startup to gain more experience under pressure in a more professional environment. I am proficient in react, typescript, node, and various db solutions (I’d love to work with other stacks though). Preferably you already have a team and a launched product. If this sounds interesting let me know.
What I hear you saying is your time isn’t worth any money.
Don’t listen to the old people telling you that they’d go bang on doors, if they worked hard and sucked a lot of dick the company would take care of them.
They will chew you up and spit you out.
You really want to learn the ropes try to find a small company and get hired on as a junior programmer. It’ll be too small to siloed. They will abuse this shit out of you anyway. Get your 2 to 3 years in and then change jobs. Repeat until you’re making real money. They still treat you like shit but you’ll have money to show for it.
