I see prices across the board, ranging from $500 to $5000+, and a lot of DIY options like Canva, but I want to make sure I am getting the right message and information across in a really good-looking presentation. Don’t want to miss anything before reaching out to investors.

Why wouldn’t you? Your time is probably a lot better spent building other aspects of your startup. Also, most people aren’t great at storytelling or design. Same reason why the resume writing industry is so huge… people generally suck at writing their own resumes and are far better off hiring a domain expert to help as it can greatly increase their chances of finding a better job faster. It’s an investment rather than an expense.

I’m at a loss lol, how do you intend on actually operating your future company? Ppt is an integral skill in pretty much any actual business role today. Find someone to bring in as a cofounder to do finance or GTM that can build decks and you’ll have an extra set of hands and likely a better shot at securing VC.

As a VC Venture Partner that looks at 50 decks a year I agree to create the initial deck yourself but paying $1-2k for a professional UI/UX designer to make it better makes a world of difference. Takes a deck from looking like it was made by high school students to one that is worth way more than they’re asking.

Note: You can build a pretty substantial career at Amazon without never, ever touching ppt.

Hmm, I think you can view this exercise as an opportunity to do something that will be required of you through the rest of your professional career:

        Storytelling and pitching
