I own a hair salon. Typically, November is my busiest season. It has been SO quiet. A lot of my colleagues are also saying the same thing and have had to close up shop because of it - or get a second job.
People keep saying it will get better and the economy will bounce back but I don’t know. I am so close from just throwing in the towel, closing up shop and getting a corporate gig.
I’ve noticed a lot of people starting their own social media pages to cut others hair - mainly guys. Oddly enough I came across this. Don’t know if it correlates with poor business, but it’s definitely a trend in the wrong direction for hair salons
Or OP can do that too!
Hair salons have gone insane with pricing the last few years. People are feeling taken advantage of and are tired of paying hundreds of dollars more for the same service as they got before the pandemic, then being expected to tip $80-$100 on top.
Same with restaurants.
