• Hello everyone, Im a software developer living in MX, currently working on some international projects as freelancer, I’m starting to create some apps, mainly focused on traveling and travel suggestions. Now I’m thiking if is better to stablish a startup here in MX or start it in the US, as most of the project ideas I have can be developed and used anywhere, I think the difference would mostly be the legal constraints. so how’s been your experience while trying to create a company in the US vs outside.

Thanks!

Maybe you should start here: https://www.latitud.com/

But you should focus on publishing a landing page, building out a MVP, attracting users, and engaging with them to determine if you’re on the right track before spending too much energy and money on business entity type and location.

You’ll know when it’s time - customers will ask for it. (and that may never happen)

Actually being in Mexico could help you. I’m sure there are government programs and subsidies in your country that could help make do business internationally. Other countries also could have programs especially for you - I believe I saw something here in Canada to facilitate exchange with Latin-America.

Why are you considering us and why mx? I learned the hard way that starting is just as hard anywhere so might as well pursue what you really want. Funding in latam is extremely tough right now too so take that into account.
