New solo consulting business where I have to do engineering surveys on-site, any hacks for traveling with 2-3 small to medium pelican cases? My main concern is losing them or theft.

I know I can always check them in but that means I will be dragging them around at airports, I considered shipping ahead of time but it can very expensive pensive since I usually have several hops during the week and would need to do overnight shipping which also take time if you need to drop them off at FedEx/UPS stores.

My friends who have done OBC work swear by having airtags inside of their luggage. That being said, the more expensive the suitcase/container - the more likely there’s expensive stuff worth stealing inside. Rimowa and Pelican cases come to mind.

I’m with the other people here - have them all as carry-on’s. You can have a fairly decent sized carry-on case, as well as a “personal item” that can be a fairly large backpack (30-40L) that you can fit the rest of your gear in. Check your clothes in a separate bag/suitcase with an airtag

I had a couple of custom foam lined rolling cases made to carry demo equipment (narrow 20" TFT display). I think I paid less than $500 for each but you can spend a lot more depending on the company. Mine was long and narrow so could be rolled just like a suitcase and was within the dimensions and weight for standard checked luggage.

Is it possible to consolidate yours into a single rolling case with foam inserts for each piece of equipment?
