I run an upscale pet grooming business. I basically have an old school approach to running a business. You work, you get paid. Show up late? You’re done. Weeding out the losers and crybabies keeps my core guys happy. I’ve also recently tried to be better when we have parties etc. I realize I am much better looking and way richer than my guys, I have washboard abs and my slacks cost more than their vehicles in many cases. In the past when we got together socially I’ve inadvertently given some of their wives/girlfriends the impression that I was interested in them sexually and it has cost me a couple of good guys. I’ve made a new personal policy that I will pretty much not under any circumstances seduce my workers significant others meaning I will avoid it whenever possible to the best of my ability in almost every case. I feel this will go a long way to retaining employees.
