Sorry this is long and I am not trying to complain whatsoever, I’m just feeling more lost than ever and I’m hoping some caring strangers on the internet can help tell me to get my shit together. So here it goes:

I’m sure this is normal in entrepreneurship but I’m feeling lost and wondering if I’m going down the right path at all. I feel like there’s some badass brand in me and I’m meant for greater things, but I constantly second guess myself and question my “why”. Not to sound narcissistic but I have experience/skills in a lot of different areas, especially with small business. I’m a creative and kind of someone that hyper fixates and tries to be a serial entrepreneur. And I love working with small business but I feel like there’s a million different ways I could help them. I’ve worked with business coaches, joined group communities, and I feel more lost than ever because none of them just felt like what I needed. (Not blaming it on these groups — this is all on me.) Its almost to the point that I wish I could create a community of people who are in my same situation and who are tired of being sold just “post on social”. Like have I been brought to this point to do something like this?

Anywho that’s my spiel. I would love to hear the ups and downs of anyone else who is also navigating something similar.

Thanks for reading if you made it this far.

Feeling lost and/or unsure about you path is so human. Without lows we don’t experience the highs. I wrote an article about Artistic Burnout and I think you’d find some value in it. Check it out here :)

I’m on the same boat. Recently realising that entrepreneurship is in itself a journey to self-discovery i.e learning about what can I do well and enjoy that brings value to society. It feels fake or forced otherwise. The japanese calls it “ikigai”

Entrepreneurship is taking the unknown road, so you’ll always have the feeling you are experiencing of “am I on the right track”. Just keep doing you and don’t compare yourself to someone else’s journey. As long as you are growing on a regular basis, learning more and more, you’ll do just fine. Just keep with it and don’t second guess yourself. I’ve been doing this for 13 years and I still have this feeling.

I can clearly see where you’re going wrong. You’re trying to do too much at once. Forget about being a serial entrepreneur. Forget about communities. Focus on one business and build it up for a few years. Then think about a second business if you want. That’s all you need to do. You don’t need to post anything anywhere either. Start a business first. Don’t put the cart before the horse.

What you’re experiencing is normal. Keep going. It sounds like you enjoy the building aspect of business, but the sales and marketing part isn’t exactly your cup of tea. This is the case for most people who want to actually help others. You’re probably not a pushy person, nor do you feel comfortable haggling with others. On the other hand, you love the before and after of a project. You love the smile on someone’s face when things go well.

Hang in there, and try to figure where you need to make some adjustments so you can push forward.
