I am currently using Linkedln sales navigator to find quality leads. I am sending cold emails, however I don’t do the whole generic approach where I copy and paste everything because I have many people do that to me and their messages sometime doesn’t cater to my video production/video editing business at all and I hate it. It is like they didn’t do any research on my Linkedln Profile on what it is I do. I tend to go to the lead’s Linkedln profile, go to their website and learn more about their business so that I can send a cold email that actually connects with them.

Some may find this time consuming, but I find it the better option than the generic cold approach. Anyone prefer this method or the generic cold email(copy and paste)?

Am I wrong in my methods?

Your method is perfect. I have worked as the team manager of a sales team in an agency, and I stressed the importance of doing research first, then approaching them using this information.

Making the lead know you did your research, finding pain points, and spending time on it will perfect your skills and grow your ability.

I don’t recommend copy and paste methods because you don’t learn anything. I learned more in sales through specific approaches.

    Best Regards,
