I own a very new, very small business selling underboob sweat protectors.

This morning I posted an offer on my page. It wasn’t a big offer but it was a saving. We’re talking a £1 saving here. Trust me, that’s important information.

I get a comment on my offer: “if you can afford to post offers like that, why don’t you just drop your prices? 🙄”

I’m horrified. I don’t understand what the motivation was behind it… I don’t think my prices are unreasonable at all and I’m not sure why someone would say that?

I don’t mean to be unkind.

$1 or £1 savings isn’t enough information. What is the offer as a % of original cost?

Also, as a business owner you will be facing a lot more hardships and comments than this one which is pretty benign. Price shoppers always exist. They don’t mean to be mean. Just cheap and price sensitive. Don’t let these things get to you. Phrases like “Shaken to the core” are generally reserved in business for situations as serious as a business partner betraying you, a kind creditor turning on you, a major life event happening (loss or disability), a former employee turning into a competitor by stealing your trade secrets, a new productor technology entering the market rendering yours irrelevant. You get the idea.

This stuff? Pssh take it in your stride and move on from the leeches.
