Hello. We are a small wholesale frozen food business that operates out of a small warehouse. We regularly receive, ship, and move around inventory within our warehouse every day. With that comes many different problems regarding the tracking and updating of our inventory, and we experience daily errors that affect our abilities to accurately track the counts of each of our items. Does anyone have any advice on what helped them be able to minimize inventory tracking errors? I’ve tried looking up different inventory programs but they all seem to be too expensive and complicated, I’m looking to start small for now to ease our employees into a new way of taking inventory because the system we have right now obviously doesnt seem to be working. Any advice would help!!! Thank you so much.

A bespoke system could be something that you’re looking for. The idea is that you’ll get an inventory system built for you from scratch that will look and behave exactly as you describe it and will fit exactly to your business need. This is not the cheapest solution, but could be an investment that will eliminate more than one issue. I am a professional developer specialising in this kind of things and I have helped some business in the past in the similar situation

Sounds like people are not finding everything even if they do their counts. This is from a lack of operational process. Could also be the time you’re taking inventory… most places do it after operational hours due to fluctuations.

Inventory can be a simple spreadsheet, but the process around it has to be clearly defined and well thought out.
