Storage units are great, just be sure you’re not running afoul of any rules they may have in place about you running a business out of their property. You’d be surprised what people try to get away with.

Another option is to sublet space from another existing business in the area, they may have excess space and welcome some extra cash every month. Watch out for issues such as site access, insurance and security issues.

I’ve done this too. And sometimes they employees are glad to see a change of ownership - many business owners get burned out, lose enthusiasm, etc. A new owner with a fresh take on things can breath new life into an otherwise slowly sinking enterprise.

This rarely happens. Sure there’s going to be some nervousness on the part of the employees, but usually they make the transition just fine. And change can be a good thing, it’s not always a negative experience.
