Off topic, but I have family in the apple business in the US.

Curious why you want to import apples. The US consumes an extremely small amount of imported apples every year and exports a TON. Apples are one of the most valuable fruit exports in the US.

This is your decision. How bad do you need this job. It’s obvious this company isn’t trustworthy. Are you willing to put up with this kind of BS every day for that kind of money?

I feel like pricing for a project like this should be negotiated beforehand.

If I called someone to calk some things and they gave me a bill for $900 I would lose my mind.

Have you considered that maybe your work isn’t good?

I’m not sure where you live, but in most places there is a severe lack of skilled labor for any sort of construction work. You’re luck to even get a call back from some of these places. There’s 2 things that I see in your post.

1. A contractor “ran out of work for me”. Is that actually what happened, or were they unhappy with your work and stopped using you.

2. “not even a referral from my old customers”. Are you old customers unhappy with your work?
