Make a pitch to him. "You know, you’re great at night level stuff and I’m more of a details guy. Why don’t you promote me to a Director of operations and I can dig in on the details. The board wants a revenue plan. I can do that.
Revenue isn’t the same as “making money”. You can lose money and be growing and have an ecstatic board. If you have no idea of any forecast of revenue, ideas for growth, etc, then there’s going to be a problem.
Why would you move someone like that into sales? He’s not willing to make a revenue plan. He’s not willing to make a plan of how to get that revenue.
