-$3000 per month
For me it’s 10k months. Felt over the moon when I had those.
But I’m also only 22 and about 3-4 years in. So I’m sure that will change as my business expands
Marketing. Even if you don’t hire a marketer you need a good strategy. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok would all be good places to advertise and post about what you’re doing. A website would be beneficial as well, but in this early stage I would focus on social media leads
That’s kind of the hard part about this stuff. Your best best is to spend as little money as possible to get an MVP that you can demo to customers and investors, and either get capital from revenue for a better product or capital from investors.
If you’re interested in web dev, I would learn to CODE a good website. I’m talking one that functions well, and is mobile responsive and passes core vital/lighthouse checks. Market is saturated with a bunch of other people who use webflow and other drag and drop solutions. They’re fine for entry level sites but if you want to compete for the bigger and better paying clients, you’ll want to learn to develop from scratch.
Aside from that, entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey. You’ll go against the grain a lot and you won’t exactly be “popular” in your family for it. You’re a grown adult though. Do your own thing. And when you succeed, your success will speak for itself. Your parents may still have negative opinions, but are you in it for them, or are you in it for YOU?
Yup, I’m on my first week of self employment and this Is the reality
Problem you’ll encounter is, developers hear this all the time. You’ll be hard pressed to find a good developer who will do a quality job on the promise of having equity. A good dev will want money up front. You can pick only 2 of the following: cheap, fast, quality
Unless you’ve got money to invest up front you’re better off building it yourself on a no code platform to validate the idea
