Is it just the two of you? Unless your co-founder is an industry expert, they are putting in money, has great VC connections, or the couple clients they have are enterprise grade (like over 50k ARR each), then I would go for close to equal equity.
Idea doesn’t mean much. Fundraising and sales are hard, but so is building the product.
I think this is short term thinking. If you get a reputation as a snake and an asshole, you must be so good that you never lose or need anyone’s trust.
Better to have a high integrity reputation and play the long game.
