I would absolutely hire myself, I’m just not sure my current resume (3 jobs since Jul 2021) would make it through the early vetting process. Which is my second biggest concern. My first being whether I should leave the start-up world and go corporate again.
This is 100% accurate. Many people are also forgetting that the tax bill is pretty significant.

This is the unpleasant truth that haunts me.
I’ve wanted too for years but I’ve just never had “the idea” that I thought I could build a business around. My skill seems to be helping others grow their businesses. It’s something I think about all the time.
Regarding money, the two start-ups where I had great success have not yet sold or IPO’d. So I sit on a large amount of equity but it’s not worth anything until they do. And while I do have some money in the bank from my really big year, in truth my lifestyle also swelled (two kids in college, nicer house) so it’s not as much as I’d hope. I have probably 7-8 months of coverage.
